the Story of God's love

God's holiness

The story begins with an all-powerful God, who has always been. He is perfect and 100% pure, untainted, uncorrupted, wholly good — the supreme standard of morality. God created everyone and everything with perfection and he wanted it to stay that way. Of all that he made, human beings were the crown of his creation, and to them he gave eternal souls. Initially, he lived in unhindered relationship with humans. By God’s design, all of creation was in harmony and there was no pain, suffering, sickness or death.

    Genesis 1:1

    In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

    Genesis 1:27

    So God created mankind in his own image,

    in the image of God he created them;

    male and female he created them.

  • God is perfect (Holy)

    Revelation 15:4

    Who will not fear you, Lord,

    and bring glory to your name?

    For you alone are holy.

    All nations will come

    and worship before you,

    for your righteous acts have been revealed.”

    Isaiah 57:15

    For this is what the high and exalted One says—

    he who lives forever, whose name is holy:

    “I live in a high and holy place,

    but also with the one who is contrite and lowly in spirit,

    to revive the spirit of the lowly

    and to revive the heart of the contrite.

    1 Samuel 2:2

    There is no one holy like the LORD;

    there is no one besides you;

    there is no Rock like our God.

  • Mankind was in perfect fellowship with God

    Genesis 1:31

    God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. And there was evening, and there was morning —the sixth day.

  • Creation points to God and gives him glory

    Romans 1:18-20

    The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of people, who suppress the truth by their wickedness, since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.

    Psalms 19:1

    The heavens declare the glory of God;

    the skies proclaim the work of his hands.

    Psalms 66:4

    All the earth bows down to you;

    they sing praise to you,

    they sing the praises of your name.”

    Romans 11:36

    For from him and through him and for him are all things.

    To him be the glory forever! Amen.

  • God is eternal

    Psalms 90:2

    Before the mountains were born

    or you brought forth the whole world,

    from everlasting to everlasting you are God.

  • God is love

    Romans 8:38-39

    For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

    1 John 4:7-8

    Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.

    Isaiah 54:10

    Though the mountains be shaken

    and the hills be removed,

    yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken

    nor my covenant of peace be removed,”

    says the LORD, who has compassion on you.
